Abstract
The "Lawrence" was built in 1868 by Ira Lafrinnier of Cleveland, Ohio. In 1896 the "Lawrence" was owned by the Northern Michigan Transport Company of Chicago, one of 13 companies that owned the vessel. After sailing as the "Lawrence" until 1902, she sailed as the "Frontenac" until 1910. When she foundered in Lake Ontario August 16, 1921, she was sailing as the "Jex, H.N.".
