Abstract
L'étude du peuplement colonisateur de la seigneurie de Chambly entre 1665 et 1740 a permis de tracer un portrait des pionniers à partir des renseignements sur l'âge, le sexe, le statut matrimonial et la provenance. L'analyse des réseaux de parenté a montré des groupes apparentés en provenance de Boucherville. Laprairie et Longueuil mettant en évidence l'importance des liens familiaux et la solidarité de provenance lors de ces migrations. Attirés par un parent, ces pionniers ont pu profiter de l'opportunité d'un réseau de relations déjà établi. Sans parente à l'arrivée, les pionniers oui ont su s'allier les voisins par leur mariage ou celui de leurs enfants se greffent a un noyau déjà existant. La parenté, importante lors de la décision de s'établir des nouveaux calons, l'est aussi par la suite pour l'enracinement dans la nouvelle communauté.
