Abstract
The aim of our thesis is to examine the impact of some organizational determinants on the quality of voluntary corporate societal responsibility reporting. The quantitative data was collected over a three-year period from publicly available sustainability reports from Canadian corporations. This study explores different organizational behaviors that can lead to manipulation of the information disclosed. Our results reveal that the information disclosed in sustainability reports present a favorable bias, a lack of completeness and understandability. Thus, our study helps to identify companies' impression management strategies and the quality of societal information disclosed on a voluntarily.
