Abstract
Este Trabajo Fin de Grado se centra en la etapa de declive de las grandes civilizaciones del Mediterráneo Oriental, en el final de la Edad de Bronce, un periodo que dio paso a lo que se conoce como la Edad Oscura. Una de las causas de dicho declive, si bien no la única, fue la irrupción de los llamados “Pueblos del Mar” y su impacto devastador en las ciudades del Mediterráneo. Precisamente dedicamos una primera parte de nuestro TFG al análisis de dichos “Pueblos del Mar”, enumerando las hipótesis planteadas sobre sus orígenes, así como la descripción de la actuación violenta de algunos de ellos en los territorios de la franja sirio palestina. En esta parte del texto tratamos en detalle el caso concreto de los peleset, los filisteos, que dieron nombre a la más meridional de las regiones del Levante antiguo. \nEn una segunda parte abordamos otras posibles causas del declive, tales como los desastres naturales, sequías, hambrunas y terremotos. Así mismo, las revueltas internas en los imperios y el colapso administrativo, económico, social y cultural que llevó a un deterioro en las relaciones interterritoriales en el este del Mediterráneo. El conocimiento de este momento histórico de transición permite establecer ciertos paralelismos con el mundo globalizado actual, que se señalan en la conclusión del trabajo
