Abstract
RESUMEN: En este trabajo se analiza la evidencia para el uso de hongos visionarios en los An- des Septentrionales. Comienza con una evaluación de la información referente a las plantas visionarias en la época prehispánica con particular énfasis en los hongos. Continúa con un estudio detallado de los colganes Darién, siendo estos objetos los que proveen la mayor evidencia para postular un uso ritual de hongos durante el período precolombino. Se propone que esta tradición chamánica entra a Colombia procedente de Mesoamérica como parte del intercambio de tecnología e ideas entre esas dos zonas ca. 100-500 d.C.
