Abstract
Il paesaggio, un termine che “negli ultimi decenni (…) è stato accolto nelle più disparate discipline scientifiche”, è “fondamentalmente duale, e ciò non solo tenendo conto delle discordanti caratterizzazioni che discipline diverse e in concorrenza fra loro ne danno: è duale in sé. Il modo di essere del paesaggio, situato sul confine tra soggettività ed oggettività, libertà e necessità, è affine a quello dell’opera d’arte”. E’ con questa premessa che Michael Jakob traccia una storia del paesaggio letterario densa di citazioni ed annotazioni puntuali, dalla letteratura del mondo classico fino a quel “momento-soglia per il paesaggio” che egli stesso colloca fra la fine del Settecento e l’inizio dell’Ottocento, quando “la densità del discorso paesaggistico (…) per la prima volta supera il campo artistico e riguarda, con grande vigore, la ricezione della Natura in situ”. \nPercorrendo le stesse origini del concetto di paesaggio, l’autore propone un’articolata riflessione sul tema del “paesaggio letterario”, che spesso viene invece trattato senza essere differenziato in modo sufficiente dalla descrizione letteraria della natura.
