Abstract
The Quarter life crisis is an emotional condition experienced by individuals aged 18-29, triggered by significant changes that lead to confusion, anxiety, and a sense of unpreparedness. This condition is typically marked by feelings of insecurity, frustration with interpersonal relationships and the workplace, and difficulties in setting long-term goals. This crisis is caused by stressful situations in their lives, both personal and environmental, leading individuals to feel confused in determining their life goals. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of self compassion and self efficacy on the quarter life crisis. The subjects of this study are active students from the Islamic Civilization History program at the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Humanities, UIN Salatiga, from the 2019-2021 cohort. The study population consists of 400 active students, with a sample size of 200 students determined using the Slovin formula at a 5% significance level, selected through accidental sampling. Data collection was conducted using psychological scales, including the self compassion scale, the self efficacy scale, and the quarter life crisis scale. The data analysis methods used were classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression hypothesis tests. The results of this study indicate that self compassion influences the quarter life crisis among students of the Islamic Civilization History program with a significance value of 0.000 (p 0.000 < 0.05), self efficacy influences the quarter life crisis among students of the Islamic Civilization History program with a significance value of 0.000 (p 0.000 < 0.05), and both self compassion and self efficacy influence the quarter life crisis among students of the Islamic Civilization History program with a significance value of 0.000 (p 0.000 < 0.05) and an effective contribution of 77,6%.
