Abstract
The "Ontadoc" was built by the Chicago Ship Building Company in 1903 for the Gilchrist Transportation Company of Cleveland, Ohio. She was originally named the "R. L. Ireland" until she was taken over by the Interlake Steamship Company of Cleveland, Ohio. She was renamed the "Sirius." She was of 4470 gross tons. In 1926, she was purchased by N. M. Paterson and Sons, Ltd. of Ft. William, Ontario. At that time, she was renamed the "Ontadoc"(Canadian 153112). She remained under Canadian ownership until 1972 when she was towed by the Polish tug "Koral" to Turkey for scrapping. This picture shows the vessel on the Cuyahoga River in 1946.
