Abstract
Prosthetic secara definisi adalah membuat mitasi dari bagian tubuh manusia, seperti \ntangan atau bahkan paru-paru, digunakan untuk menggantikan yang hilang atau telah \nkehilangan kemampuannya untuk beroperasi. Tata rias ini dalam kaitannya dalam \ndunia pertunjukan disebut sebagai tata rias prosthetic, dalam dunia tata rias ini \nmerupakan salah satu tehnik untuk menciptakan suatu efek dalam perancangannya. \nTata rias prosthetic adalah proses menggunakan tehnik prosthetic untuk membuat \npatung atau molding dengan mencetak langsung salah satu bagian tubuh aktor, \nkemudian dari patung cetakan ini dijadikan dasaran untuk menciptakan organ tubuh \natau kulit imitasi yang nantinya diaplikasikan ke tubuh pemeran atau atris, tehnik tata \nrias prostetik. Tehnik ini pada dunia tata rias memberikan efek tersendiri, salah satu \nrevolusi ini dilakukan oleh Dick Smith dalam dunia panggung dan perfilman seperti \ntata rias film Little Big Man. Dimana dia merubah total tokohnya yang secara visual \ntampak nyata seperti orang tua dengan pengaplikasian tata rias prosthetic dengan \nmencetak kulit buatan. Pemanfaatan prosthetic dalam make up dan busana menjadi \nsuatu hal yang menarik untuk diangkat, tata rias prosthetic dipilih lantaran hasil yang \ndicapainya dapat sedetail mungkin tergantung penciptaan. Dengan teknik ini, pencipta \ndapat merubah total penampilan sang pemeran seperti tampak lebih tua dan menambah \norgan tubuh. Lebih tepatnya tata rias prostetik dapat merealisasikan imajinasi ke \nbentuk nyata.
