Abstract

This propeller was built in 1911 by American Ship Building Company, Lorain, Ohio. She was owned by Calumet Transportation Company until 1929, when she was sold to Producers Steamship Company. She was then sold to National Steel Corporation in 1963. in 1931, she became "Edmund W. Mudge." As "Quincy A. Shaw," she collided with and sank steamer "D.R. Hanna" in fog six miles NExE off Thunder Bay Island, Lake Huron, May 16, 1919. She collided with and sank barge "Harriet B." in fog off Two Harbors, Minnesota, Lake Superior, May 3, 1922. She was sold in August 1963 to Columbia Iron & Metals Company, who resold her to Western Iron & Metal Company, Port Arthur, Ontario. She was scrapped there in winter, 1963-1964.
