Fruit de la collaboration de brasseries britannique, suédoise, belge et canadienne, Skol devait être une marque de bière mondiale, selon Wikipédia (L'encyclopédie libre).À la suite d'une série d'acquisitions et de fusions, la Skol est devenue la bière la plus populaire au Brésil, pays où vivent le plus grand nombre de peuples isolés.Le personnage de la bande dessinée américaine Hägar Dünor (Hägar the Horrible), un Viking ventripotent et hâbleur tout droit sorti du Moyen Âge, l'a déjà vantée dans la publicité.Le nom « Skol » vient du suédois skål qui signifie « à votre santé ».Il tire son origine du mot désignant un bol fabriqué à l'origine à partir du crâne (skull en anglais) évidé d'un ennemi décapité et utilisé pour porter un toast aux guerriers tombés au champ d'honneur afin qu'ils puissent pénétrer dans Valhalla, le paradis viking au sein du royaume des dieux.La galerie Skol est le lieu/non-lieu de l'exposition 11 de Steve Giasson, d'où le titre Skol : 11.
