L’intérêt de plus en plus marqué de la clientèle pour les produits d’aventure et d’écotourisme sur le territoire québécois engendre des défis de recrutement et rétention de la main-d’œuvre pour les entreprises offrant ces activités. Celle-ci est confrontée à des horaires et à un environnement de travail tributaires des conditions météorologiques qui génèrent une précarité d’emploi ainsi qu’un stress relatif à la gestion du risque des activités. Puisque la plupart des employés résident généralement sur le site d’opérations, on remarque une mince distinction entre le lieu de travail, de loisir et de résidence de cette main-d’œuvre. À la lumière de ces particularités, il s’agit ici de se questionner sur l’existence d’un style de vie propre à cette main-d’œuvre sur le territoire québécois et les influences provenant des caractéristiques du territoire, de la saisonnalité et de la nature des activités.
