UND’s Saleh Faruque publishes fourth ‘Made Easy’ book in series on electrical engineering concepts

Abstract
University of North Dakota Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering Saleh Faruque has published the fourth book in his “Made Easy” series on electrical engineering concepts. In his latest release, Radio Frequency Modulation Made Easy, Faruque blends theory and practice to bring readers up-to-date in key concepts, underlying principles and practical applications of radio frequency modulation. The presentation is designed to be easily accessible, minimizing mathematics and maximizing visuals. Faruque, a native of Bangladesh who has been with the College of Engineering and Mines since 2002, teaches undergraduate and graduate courses via traditional and distance learning means in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Fulbright scholar Faruque received his bachelor’s degree in Physics and master’s degree in applied physics from Dhaka University in Bangladesh in 1969 and 1970. He also received a master’s and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo In Ontario, Canada, in 1976 and 1980. After the completion of his degrees, Faruque worked in the telecom industry for more than 20 years and contributed extensively in cellular communications. In 2011-12, Faruque was the recipient of the prestigious U.S. Fulbright Scholarship and was also awarded Outstanding Professor of the Year in 2008 and 2012 by the College of Engineering and Mines. In addition to his books, Faruque has published more than 90 papers for various technical journals and conference proceedings. He has also secured 16 U.S. and three Canadian patents, and has several U.S. patents pending. The new book is published by Springer.
