\nAnahtar Kelimeler: Altın, mücevher, endüstri, madencilik, finans\nABSTRACT\nROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF GOLD IN WORLD AND TURKISH ECONOMIES\nBecause of its physical and chemical characteristics, gold is very important in industry, in daily life as jewelry, and in financial system as a payment and investment alternative. Gold is the most important mineral processed by humankind. It has been found and processed in a range of geography. It is possible to use gold as a payment option in trade due to its ability to keep its value. Gold-based payment could be admired in eras when information technologies had not occured yet, world trade had not become so much complex, currencies had not able to reflect real purchasing power against other currencies. However, when world trade and financial system has taken into account, gold-based payment system causes some problems. In order to eliminate these problems, gold-based payment has been given up, and gold is continued to be used as a material in jewelry and electronics industries. \nIn this study, it is aimed to examine world gold mining and reputable gold mining countries, the role of Turkey in world gold industry. In this context, the characteristics of Turkish gold industry, consumption tendencies, development of gold markets and gold and related products trade of Turkey with other countries will be analyzed. \nThere are two types of gold mining on earth as deeper ores and water streams. Main gold mining countries are South African Republic, India, Indonesia, Russia, USA, China, Australia and Canada. Main gold demand types can be summarized as industrial demand and speculative demand.\nGold mineral acquired from ores within Turkey meets very low proportion of Turkish gold mineral demand. Lack of supply is satisfied by imports. Main gold consumption area in Turkey is jewelry. Turkey is one of reputable jewelry manufacturing countries. Main countries which Turkey exports jewelry are those USA, United Arab Emirates, Russia and Italy. Turkish gold exports have a significant portion in Turkish foreign trade.\nKey words: Gold, Jewelry, Industry, Mining, Finance

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
