Abstract
Les services d'urgences hospitaliers connaissent actuellement une recrudescence d'activité, liée à de multiples facteurs. L'accroissement de la charge de travail des soignants est particulièrement sensible à l'accueil des patients. Cependant, le travail d'accueil et d'orientation reste primordial dans la suite de la prise en charge du patient à l'intérieur de l'hopital. Cette thèse a été motivée par les problèmes récurrents rencontrés dans le service des urgences du centre hospitalier de Mantes-la-Jolie. L'intervention ergonomique effectuée sur ce terrain a permis de définir un diagnostic d'activité détaillé au niveau des espaces de travail. Des propositions pour une configuration future de l'accueil font suite à cette analyse, grâce à la participation du personnel. Cette étude permet également d'ouvrir une réflexion quant à la contribution de l'approche ergonomique dans la démarche d'amélioration des soins à l'hôpital. La prise en compte des conditions de travail apparaît comme un élément essentiel à cette démarche.
