Abstract
Hernández Velázquez wrote the text for an exhibition catalogue on the work of the artist Sylvie Bussières. Artiste née au Québec en 1964, Sylvie Bussières pratique une sculpture interrogeant le sens et la logique des formes, de la matière, de la mémoire et des lieux. On découvre ici de beaux exemples de ses dernières séries d'objets, lesquels ont comme glissé hors de leur contexte d'origine : Jardins de Momies (des animaux captifs au corps intégralement recouvert de bandelettes blanches), Inutiles de verre (des contenants de verre fondus et plats), Totems et Fontaines de théières (des empilements de bouilloires recouvertes d'une peau d'or qui s'écaille ou formant des fontaines à buses multiples), Utiles-inutiles (des cuillères et fourchettes martelés, des ustensiles que le fil de cuivre enroulé autour d'eux rend inutilisables...).
