Abstract
Lo studio delle relazioni tra Stati e confessioni religiose rappresenta un indispensabile strumento per valutare il livello di tutela della libertà religiosa, ma è anche indice di democrazia e capacità di governo dei conflitti sociali. Conoscere assetti costituzionali e problematiche della presenza religiosa nelle diverse realtà statuali aiuta a comprendere e governare un fenomeno sempre più determinante per la vita delle società e della comunità internazionale. Nall'ambito del volume il contributo sul Canada propone una riflessione sull'assetto della freedom of conscience, religion and belief a partire dai testi costituzionali, dalla giurisprudenza della Suprema Corte e dai dati statistici relativi all'ultimo censimento.
