Abstract
Als die Kinemathek in Karlsruhe noch "Kommunales Kino" hieß und im Untergeschoss der Orangerie ihren Platz hatte, da wurden während der späten 1970er im Kinderprogramm Filme gezeigt, in denen der australische Schauspieler Errol Flynn die Hauptrolle innehatte.Die Sitzgelegenheiten waren einfache Holzstühle und der Projektor stand frei am hinteren Ende des Raumes.Während er das typische Projektorrattern ratterte, hingen im Erdgeschoss berühmte Gemälde berühmter Maler: Eine sonderbare Collage von Kurt Schwitters, August Mackes "Leute am See" und Robert Delaunays Bild eines einstürzenden Eiffelturms.Nur über einen Nebeneingang konnte man in den Keller gelangen.In der Samstagsnachmittag-Kindervorstellung wurden Filme gezeigt, die zwar nicht immer ausgewiesene Kinderfilme waren, aber alt -und damit halbwegs sex-und gewaltfrei.Wenn keine Filme mit Errol Flynn kamen, wurden tschechische Märchenfilme gezeigt oder Verfilmungen von Jules-Verne-Stoffen wie "In 80 Tagen um die Welt" mit David Niven, "Reise zum Mittelpunkt der Erde" mit James Mason oder der unbekanntere, aber dafür um so phantastischere "Der Komet"."Abenteuerfilme"
