Abstract
Una tesi de la UAB dóna llum nova sobre el famós Trastorn per Dèficit d'Atenció amb Hiperactivitat. La troballa més espectacular és que existeixen alteracions no només en les àrees cerebrals relacionades amb l'atenció i la concentració, sinó també en regions implicades en la motivació, en concret en el nucli accumbens. Aquest descobriment ofereix una perspectiva completament nova sobre el trastorn: podria tractar-se no només d'un problema d'atenció, sinó també de motivació. En el mateix estudi, i mitjançant l'ús de noves tècniques, s'ha corroborat que el cervell dels nens afectats pel TDAH és, de mitjana, un 5% més petit que el dels nens de la seva mateixa edat.
