Empatija je ključni element medicinske prakse i imperativ je za uspostavljanje\n međuljudskog odnosa. Predstavlja složenu socio-emocionalnu kompetenciju koja\n obuhvaća različite međusobno povezane komponente. Brojni autori empatiju smatraju\n važnom kompetencijom zdravstvenog djelatnika na kojoj se temelji skrbi za pacijente.\n Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati koliko je važna empatija u svakodnevnom\n radu zdravstvenih djelatnika u primarnoj zdravstvenoj zaštiti. Istraživanje je provedeno\n korištenjem anketnog upitnika „The Toronto Empathy Questionnaire“ . U istraživanju su\n sudjelovala ukupno 122 sudionika. Prikupljeni rezultati ukazuju na nisku razinu\n empatije. Temljem dobivenih rezultata može se zaključiti kako ispitanici u\n svakodnevnom radu ne koriste empatiju dovoljno. Empatija je važna interpersonalna\n vještina i temeljna komponenta za razvijanje kvalitnog odnosa između zdravstvenog\n profesionalca i bolesnika. Razvijanje empatije ključno je za uspostavljanje odnosa i\n važan je prioritet u obrazovanju studenata zdravstvene skrbi.
