Abstract
L’objectif de ce projet est d’évaluer le potentiel d’un nouveau matériau, la fibre d’asclépiade, pour le comblement des défauts osseux chez des patients souffrant de lésions osseuses. Cette fibre cellulosique est extraite des gousses de l’Asclepias syrica L., une plante herbacée d’Amérique du Nord. Sa structure tridimensionnelle micro-fibrillaire constitue un avantage pour son utilisation en tant qu’échafaudage cellulaire car elle permettrait d’accueillir des cellules tout en transportant les nutriments nécessaires. Dans un premier temps, une caractérisation physico-chimique de cette fibre a été effectuée. Puis, une modification du matériau a été réalisée par plasma afin de favoriser sa mouillabilité mais aussi sa biodégradation. La dernière étape consiste à évaluer le potentiel de cette fibre fonctionnalisée à améliorer l’adhésion et la différenciation des cellules souches mésenchymateuses en cellules osseuses.
