Des analyses menées à la Clinique des maladies lipidiques du Complexe hospitalier de la Sagamie (CHS) suggèrent que la prévalence de la mutation D9N du gène de la lipase lipoprotéique serait relativement élevée dans la région du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean (SLSJ). L'objectif principal de cette étude est d'analyser les origines de cette mutation au sein de la population, à partir de la reconstitution des généalogies de personnes atteintes. Des informations se rapportant à un échantillon de 39 individus porteurs de la mutation et à un groupe témoin de même taille ont été utilisées pour la reconstitution des généalogies et les analyses. La concentration des ancêtres ainsi que les coefficients de consanguinité et d'apparentement calculés sont plus élevés chez les personnes atteintes que chez les témoins mais les analyses de l'origine des fondateurs ne démontrent pas de différence importante entre les deux groupes. La majorité des fondateurs régionaux proviennent de la région de Charlevoix, alors que les premiers fondateurs (établis pour la plupart au 17e siècle) sont originaires de diverses régions situées principalement dans le nord-ouest de la France. Cette étude représente un apport intéressant à l'étude démogénétique de la population du SLSJ puisque c'est la première fois qu'une telle analyse des fondateurs régionaux est effectuée. \n
