Abstract
L’école est un lieu privilégié pour faire des apprentissages. La façon dont ces apprentissages se font actuellement dans les écoles du Québec a été influencée par des courants pédagogiques. Les directions d’écoles comme les enseignants voient leur pratique influencée par les courants pédagogiques. En effet, en vertu des responsabilités qui leur sont confiées et de l’importance de la formation continue, les enseignants, comme la direction, gagnent à connaître ces courants pédagogiques. Cet essai se veut un survol des principaux courants pédagogiques et approches qui s’y rattachent. On y traite des fondements théoriques, des principaux théoriciens qui y sont associés et des approches pédagogiques qui découlent des courants pédagogiques. Les courants pédagogiques sont analysés de façon thématique.
