Depuis trois ans maintenant, notre groupe de recherche accompagne des enseignants qui offrent un cours d’Histoire du Québec et du Canada au deuxième cycle du secondaire comprenant une part significative d’enseignement à distance. Au cours de cette période, nous avons récolté des données diverses auprès des élèves, notamment sous la forme d’entretiens individuels. Les données collectées à ce jour permettent de brosser le portrait de différents types d’élèves qui se retrouvent dans un contexte de formation à distance (FAD). Par exemple, les élèves qui affirment ressentir une motivation plus forte en FAD disent que l’autonomie et la flexibilité sont les principales sources de cette motivation. À l’inverse, les élèves dont la motivation est plus faible en FAD affirment que le manque de socialisation avec l’enseignant et avec les autres élèves les affecte le plus. La communication présente une analyse détaillée des contenus des entretiens individuels menés avec les élèves et aborde les ajustements aux méthodes d’enseignement et d’accompagnement que ces observations ont inspirées.
