Abstract
Previous work suggests that there is a link between shift work and physiological and psychological health. In addition to the individual consideration of the workers, it also seems important to consider the social structures in which the worker lives and the influence of shift work on this social network. Previous research from the USA and Canada also shows that there is a negative effect of shift work on satisfaction with partnership and leisure time. This influence will be examined in more detail in the following work on a German sample and not only the workers, but also their partners will be included in the analyses.
