Abstract
Henry Vander Werf is a Dutch immigrant who came to the United States in 1948. Vander Werf married the granddaughter of Kornelis Jakob Swartwolt and translated his original journal from Dutch to English over a two year period. The collection contains a copy of the published 1998 journal Life Journal of Kornelis Jakob Swartwolt (1822-1905) an early Dutch immigrant who settled in the Beaverdam area of Ottawa County, by Henry Vander Werf, covering eighteen years (1887-1905); a Semi-Centennial program of the Beaverdam Christian Reformed Church, April 26, 1932; and unpublished manuscript, To be led According to HIS will and purpose, by Henry Vander Werf.
