Abstract
Charles Kenneth Beattie was born in Whiteford, Maryland on July 19, 1923, and graduated from Slate Ridge High School in 1941. Mr. Beattie retired in 1982 after a distinguished 39 year career with the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. He was one of the founders of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce, was instrumental in getting football at North Harford High School, and has devoted a great deal of time to community service. Sometimes known as "Mr. Republican" he has attended nine different National Republican Conventions and was an official delegate at eight of them. [Note: The audio for this interview is a bit garbled at the beginning, but improves 1 minute, 45 seconds into the interview.]
