Abstract
Dans un communiqué daté du 26 juillet\n1991, le Musée canadien des civilisations\na annoncé le lancement d’un projet international de recherche archéologique. Ce\nprojet, placé sous l’égide du Canada, a\npour but d’effectuer des fouilles dans les\nsites reliés à l’explorateur élisabéthain Sir\nMartin Frobisher, c’est-à-dire dans la\nrégion de l’île de Baffin, appelée autrefois\n“Meta incognita”, qui signifie “rive inconnue”. Entre 1576 et 1578, Frobisher\ndirigea trois expéditions dans la Baie de\nFrobisher.
