Abstract
El estudio sistemático de los ciclos económicos de México se ha llevado a cabo sólo en años recientes. Las características del ciclo económico del país han tomado gran relevancia debido a la existencia de co-movimientos, dado el grado de integración económica con Estados Unidos (EU), especialmente a partir de la firma del Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte (TLCAN) (Agénor et al. 2000; Torres, 2000, Schwartz y Pérez, 2000, Alper 2002; Cuevas et al., 2003; Torres y Vela 2002; Herrera, 2004; Ramos y Ryd, 2005; Gutiérrez et al 2005; Mejía et al., 2006b).
