Le premier objectif de cette étude consiste en l'investigation de la prévalence et de l'association entre les différents comportements de sextage chez un échantillon comprenant 345 adolescents du secondaire (49.9% féminin) de la région de Québec. Le second propose une évaluation de l'influence de facteurs liés à l'environnement médiatique, d'aspects ciblés par les programmes de prévention et de facteurs de risques sexuels sur la décision des adolescents d'envoyer des photos ou des vidéos à caractères sexuellement explicite via les technologies de l'information et des communications (TIC). La régression logistique effectuée montre que la consommation de cyberpornographie, le fait d'avoir eu plus de deux partenaires sexuels, le genre féminin ainsi qu'une plus large perception des conséquences négatives sont associés à la décision de sexter. L'auto-objectification, les compétences d'affirmation de soi et un plus jeune âge à la première relation sexuelle s'avèrent sans lien avec le sextage. Une analyse multigroupe effectuée sur le modèle postulé, qui explique 37.5% de la variance de la décision de sexter, montre que le modèle proposé ne varie pas en fonction du genre.
