"Se discute los principales hallazgos del estudio de la información cuantitativa sobre la pobreza y su vínculo con la condición indígena de los peruanos y peruanas.La discusión gira en torno a los datos recogidos por la encuesta nacional de hogares del cuarto trimestre del año 2001 (ENAHO 2001-IV), realizada por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI), y las encuestas de hogares que a lo largo de la década del noventa efectuó el Instituto Cuánto, siguiendo la metodología del Banco Mundial". ― Prefacio
