CEUX QUI C l est en portant notre regard sur les cinéastes expérimentateurs que nous terminons, avec ce numéro de Séquences, le survol amorcé il y a un an du cinéma québécois des années 90.Depuis l'avènement du direct, lui-même issu d'une expérience fabuleuse, le cinéma québécois, par de petites actions tranquilles ou de grands mouvements anarchiques, s'est toujours interrogé sur la forme et le fond.Même dans la fiction, genre pourtant extrêmement codé et conventionnel, l'audace formelle a laissé libre cours à Péclosion du talent de ces nouveaux cinéastes.Doit-on d'ailleurs voir dans cette obsession pour l'expérimentation la traditionnelle méfiance du cinéma québécois envers une fiction résolument commerciale ou un cinéma trop campé dans la notion de genre ?Ce dernier dossier sur le cinéma québécois des années 90 vous présentera ceux et celles qui, durant la dernière décennie, se sont démarqués par le désir de proposer des films têtes chercheuses, des essais audacieux, spécialement sur le plan formel, et qui ont permis à l'imaginaire cinématographique québécois de faire un bond en voguant à la recherche d'outils narratifs originaux.Ici s'achève donc ce parcours, que nous savons incomplet.Comme nous vous l'annoncions d'entrée de jeu, nous avons dû faire des choix difficiles, douloureux.Mais nous ne cesserons pas pour autant de vous parler de cinéma québécois, qu'il faut suivre pas à pas.Il y a encore tant à dire, tant à explorer, tant à découvrir.
