Abstract
Même si depuis longtemps les archives romaines, notamment celles du Saint-Siège, ont été reconnues comme une source importante pour l’histoire de l’Église catholique au Canada et en particulier au Québec, elles n’ont pas été vraiment exploitées avant 1970. Pour cette raison, en participant à la préparation du Colloque Les archives du Vatican: pistes et défis pour la recherche sur le Québec et l’Amérique française (Rome, 5-6 mai 2011), nous avons jugé qu’il n’était pas inutile de reprendre quelques textes anciens, qui étaient paru dans des publications européennes ou qui étaient encore inédites, et de les mettre à jour dans cette petite brochure sur la richesse des archives du Saint-Siège.
