Measurement of the inclusive jet cross section using the k(T) algorithm in p(p)over-bar collisions at root s=1.96 TeV with the CDF II detector

Abstract
We report on measurements of the inclusive jet production cross section as a function of the jet transverse momentum in \np \n¯ \np \n collisions at \n√ \ns \n= \n1.96 \n \n \nTeV \n, using the \nk \nT \n algorithm and a data sample corresponding to \n1.0 \n \n \nfb \n− \n1 \n collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab in run II. The measurements are carried out in five different jet rapidity regions with \n| \ny \njet \n| \n< \n2.1 \n and transverse momentum in the range \n54 \n< \np \njet \nT \n< \n700 \n \n \nGeV \n/ \nc \n. Next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions are in good agreement with the measured cross sections.
