A Catedral de Évora viu duas grandes construções durante a primeira metade do século XVIII.A primeira foi a construção do novo edifício para o Colégio dos Moços do Coro e a segundaconsistiu na edificação de uma nova capela-mor para a Catedral. Neste estudo é analisada aconstrução da capela-mor a partir da perspectiva do seu impacto na actividade musical da Catedral,nomeadamente a actividade dos dois mestres de capela que trabalharam na Catedral durante esteperíodo: Pedro Vaz Rego e Ignácio António Celestino.
