Mentionnés par Orose (Hist., 1, 2, 88), on ne sait s’il s’agit de métis ou d’Éthiopiens de Libye par opposition aux Éthiopiens de la rive droite du Nil (supposés asiatiques). Ils semblent situés par Orose au sud-ouest de l’Égypte, au sud de la Cyrénaïque et, d’après l’orientation de la description, au voisinage des Garamantes*, considérés eux-mêmes parfois comme des « Faces-brûlées », mais le plus souvent distingués de celles-ci.
