Abstract
Si le développement durable est un objectif fondamental de l'Union européenne qui s'applique à l'ensemble des activités et politiques de celle-ci, la production et la consommation durables sont , en revanche apparues plus récemment en tant qu'objectif clé de la nouvelle stratégie de développement durable adoptée par le Conseil européen lors de sa réunion tenue les 15 et 16 juin 2006. Dans l'attente d'un plan d'action, annoncé en avril 2008 qui devrait préciser les mesures concrètes à mettre en oeuvre, la communication examine les principaux axes de ce nouvel objectif stratégique
