Abstract
This report gives an overview of the training experiences received by the author during his 22 weeks Industrial Attachment with Pratt and Whitney Canada (S.E.A) Pte. Ltd. or P&WC. The author was attached to the Facilities and Technical Support Department (FTS) where he undertook a total of 1 research study and 7 projects. The author shall, however, only highlight the research study and 4 significant projects. This report gives the overview of the operating system of P&WC - Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE). It will show how this system seeks to establish the company into a world class organization and strive to be the leader in the global aviation industry. The projects that are to be highlighted are initiatives of ACE. They are namely , the setting up of an effective tools/equipment management system, P&WC’s first Production Preparation Process project, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) project and lastly Total Preventive Maintenance(TPM) project.
