Still waters run deep: mobilizing architecture through the art of quilting along the Lachine Canal
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The nature of Montréal’s relationship with water and the way it is used is a direct \nresult of policies, technical decisions, and environmental transformation. Through \nthe greenifying of the post-industrial Lachine Canal as a National Heritage \nPark, critical histories of residents, neighbourhoods, and industrial workers have \nbeen neglected. Only through oral histories have their narratives lived on, \nacknowledging a fraught yet rich and diverse history of Montréal’s industrial \nera. Through the intersection of interdisciplinary theory and place-based \ninvestigation, this thesis explores how architecture might utilize water as an agent \nto challenge existing power structures to offer cultural inclusivity and stewardship. \nThe craft of quilting is used as a methodology for employing oral histories and \nestablishing a framework for equitable access to the Lachine Canal. The framework \nis applied to one of the canal’s discarded industrial sites, addressing spatial injustices \nand opportunities for community engagement within the realm of public space.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
