Abstract
El ultímate frisbee ya ha sido adoptado en el “proyecto de aula” de instituciones educativas de Colombia, en ciudades como en Medellín, Bogotá, Envigado, Rio negro; además se rectica en algunas universidades, como lo demuestra el informe de participantes elaborado por la Universidad Eafit de Medellín, en la cuarta versión del torneo Universitario de ultímate frisbee (2008) donde participaron 19 universidades en las categorías masculino y femenino y 14 instituciones educativas del territorio nacional. \nEn la ciudad de Medellín ya hace parte de los programas de énfasis deportivos del programa “Escuelas populares del deporte” del Instituto de Deportes y Recreación INDER. Este deporte es practicado por una gran población de niños, adolescentes y adultos de la ciudad. El ultímate frisbee está sumando cada vez más adeptos a su práctica. En Colombia ya existen 35 clubes aproximadamente que se han venido conformando desde hace 10 años. \nCuenta con torneos nacionales y torneos entre países; en agosto de 2008 viajó una delegación con más de 106 personas que representaron a Colombia en el mundial de naciones realizado en Vancouver, Canadá. Estos deportistas, en su mayoría antioqueños, lograron ubicarse como el mejor país latino americano en esa estrecha tabla de posiciones. \nEl ultímate frisbee vive en Colombia un momento de euforia que avanza hacia una propuesta de actividad física recreativa que permite integrar a personas de diferentes edades y géneros. Esta práctica deportiva del siglo XXI tiene un amplio campo aún por explorar e investigar.
