Abstract
El objeto de estudio de esta tesis se ha centrado en la implantación de Roma en el norte del territorio onubense, en la zona meridional de la denominada Baeturia Celtica. La ciudad de Arucci/Turobriga fue fundada en época de Augusto madiante la fusión (contributio) de los núcleos prerromanos de Arucci y Turobriga. Ésta experimentará un gran desarrollo en época Julio-Claudia, cuando se construye el foro entre el principado de Calígula y el de Claudio. Esta actividad constructiva se prolongará hasta el reinado de la dinastía Flavia, momento en que se construyen las termas. El s. II d. C., especialmente bajo Trajano y Adriano, será el momento de máximo esplendor de la ciudad. Iniciado el s. III d. C. la ciudad mantendrá cierta actividad hasta que a mediados de siglo se comience abandonar, sirviendo de cantera para la construcción de nuevas villas rústicas y la ampliación de otras existentes.__________________________________________________The object of study of this thesis has centred on the implantation of Rome on the north of the Huelva territory, on the southern zone of Baeturia Celtica called. Arucci/Turobriga’s city was founded in epoch of Augusto by means of one the merger contributio of the preromans nucleuses of Arucci and Turobriga. The city will experience a great development in epoch In July-Claudio, when the forum is constructed between Caligula’s principality and that of Claudio. This constructive activity there will extend up to the reign of the dynasty Flavia, moment in which the thermal baths are constructed. S. the IInd A.D., specially under Trajano and Adriano, it will be the moment of maximum brilliance of the city. Initiated s. The IIIrd A.D. the city will support certain activity until in the middle of century it’s begun to leave, using as quarry for the construction of new rustic villas and the extension as existing others.
