Abstract
L'articolo indaga la relazione tra la costruzione dell'azienda vinicola Stratus, descrivondene le caratteristiche fino alla scala del dettaglio costruttivo, e il tema della sostenibilità dell'intero ciclo di vita nell'accezione del recupero di materiali e risorse impiegate. La nuova azienda vinicola Stratus si differenzia nelle modalità espressive dall’architettura delle cantine tradizionali e punta sull’eco-compatibilità in tutte le fasi del ciclo di vita, dall’uso di impianti efficienti per il risparmio energetico, all’uso estensivo di materiali riciclati. Lo studio Andrew Incorporated Architect ha progettato l’accostamento di due volumi dalla geometria semplice da adibire alla produzione e all’area vendita integrando le funzioni della produzione vinicola con le scelte strategiche di riduzione dell’impatto ambientale, curando il ciclo di produzione del vino e il ciclo di vita dell’edificio. Nel quadro di queste scelte l’edificio sfrutta le potenzialità dell’acciaio con l’uso di materiale riciclato e la possibilità di \nprevisione di un secondo ciclo di vita delle risorse, ottenendo la certificazione ambientale LEED™ Silver.
