ALFRED, NY The Alfred University "reunion bikers," a group of alumni who spend the week preceding Reunion Weekend bicycling to Alfred, have finalized the itinerary for their upcoming ride.This year marks the 11th time since the inaugural bike ride in 2003 that the group will be pedaling to Alfred to join fellow alumni at Reunion.The group also rode in 2008 the year of its 50th alumni reunion before embarking on eight consecutive trips from 2010-17.This year, the reunion bikers will begin their journey back to Alfred from Sackets Harbor, NY, located in Jefferson County on the shores of Lake Ontario, west of Watertown.Riders will meet in Sackets Harbor Saturday, June 2, and spend one night at The Harbor House Inn before departing on Sunday, June 3, for a 40-mile ride north along the Great Lakes Seaway Trail to Clayton, NY.After an overnight stay at the McKinley House Bed and Breakfast in Clayton, the group will take a 10-mile ride Monday, June 4, to Alexandria Bay and the 1000 Islands.After some sightseeing, the bicyclist will pedal back to Clayton and then be driven to Pittsford, NY.On Monday and Tuesday nights (June 4 and 5), the group will stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bushnell&s Basin, NY, along the Erie Canal Trail.They will bicycle along the Erie Canal and Genesee River trails Tuesday and Wednesday (June 5 and 6) before leaving Wednesday for Letchworth State Park and an overnight stay at the Genesee Falls Inn.The group will challenge the rolling hills of Letchworth State Park on Thursday, June 7, before heading to Hornell, where they will spend the night at the Best Western Inn.On Friday, June 8, they will join local bikers in Hornell, at The Bicycle Man shop in Alfred Station, and at various points along the way for their "Victory Ride" into Alfred and up to the King Alfred statue in center of the Alfred University campus.
