Abstract
Nous considérons trois paires de modèles (GBM, ARCH. retour à la moyenne) pour vérifier la présence de sauts dans les prix spot du Brent Montréal. Les sauts correspondent à la présence d'information non-anticipée. Comme la statistique du quotient de vraisemblance pertinente suit - sous l'hypothèse nulle - une distribution asymptotique non-standard, nous utilisons la méthode des tests de Monte-Carlo pour obtenir des seuils de signification marginaux (valeurs-p) valides. Nous étudions par la suite la capacité à prévoir de ces différents modèles. Vu la complexité des processus de sauts, nous calculons les erreurs quadratiques moyennes (EQM) de prévision à l'aide de simulations. Les trois modèles, lorsque les sauts sont pris en considération, ne présentent pas de différences visibles quant à leur capacité à prévoir à court terme. Toutefois, dans l'ensemble, les tests LR révèlent des sauts statistiquement significatifs. Les résultats de ces tests sont fondamentaux pour analyser le prix du pétrole.
