Abstract
Childfree adalah istilah yang merujuk pada pilihan individu untuk tidak memiliki anak secara sengaja. Ini bertolakbelakang dengan wacana dominan yang dianut oleh mayoritas masyarakat Indonesia yang cenderung pronatalis. Ini menciptakan kontroversi yang ramai menjadi perdebatan terutama di media sosial. Childfree kerap dipandang sebagai pilihan hidup yang menyimpang dan tidak normal. Komunitas-komunitas childfree berbasis online pun mulai bermunculan di berbagai platform media sosial, salah satunya komunitas Childfree Indonesia di Facebook. Kehadiran komunitas online ini berperan sebagai ruang aman bagi para penganut childfree untuk berjejaring dan berinteraksi. Melalui berbagai interaksi yang terjalin di dalam komunitas online ini dapat ditelusuri wacana seperti apa yang dibangun oleh penganut childfree. Wacana yang terbangun tersebut juga mencerminkan resistensi atau perlawanan oleh penganut childfree sebagai kelompok yang menentang dan tidak sejalan dengan wacana dominan yang berkuasa di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan etnografi virtual atau netnografi. Data diperoleh secara virtual dengan melakukan observasi partisipatif, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori kekuasaan/pengetahuan oleh Foucault untuk menganalisa wacana childfree sebagai resistensi terhadap kekuasaan wacana dominan yang terbangun di komunitas Childfree Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkap terdapat lima wacana yang berkembang di komunitas Childfree Indonesia, diantaranya; (1) menikah dan punya anak adalah pilihan, bukan kewajiban; (2) childfree sebagai solusi isu ekonomi; (3) childfree sebagai solusi isu lingkungan; (4) memiliki anak adalah beban; (5) anak bukan investasi, wacana hidup mandiri di masa tua. Kelima wacana ini dibangun dan diperkuat melalui cerita pengalaman pribadi, informasi edukatif serta humor dan satir. Wacana dominan yang menekankan pentingnya memiliki anak menciptakan praktik kekuasaan berupa stigmatisasi dan desakan sosial terhadap penganut childfree. Adapun resistensi penganut childfree terhadap kekuasaan wacana dominan tersebut berupa melawan dengan argumen, mengasingkan diri, melawan dalam diam dan pembatasan pembicaraan.
