Entre le tiers et la moitié des personnes vivant avec un traumatisme craniocérébral (TCC) éprouveraient des difficultés de fonctionnement sexuel. Bien qu’il soit recommandé qu’une discussion portant sur la sexualité soit menée durant la réadaptation de ces personnes, la plupart des programmes québécois de réadaptation en traumatologie rapportent que cette pratique n’est pas implantée. De plus, il n’existe pas d’information vulgarisée et en français sur le sujet, qui pourrait être consultée par cette clientèle et utilisée par les professionnels de la réadaptation pour soutenir une discussion. Le but de ce projet était de codévelopper des outils d’information à l’intention des adultes ayant subi un TCC modéré ou grave (TCCMG) et leurs proches pour favoriser les échanges sur la sexualité en réadaptation. Deux séries de groupes de discussion et d’entrevues individuelles ont d’abord été menées. Les participants étaient a) des adultes ayant subi un TCCMG dans les cinq dernières années; b) des conjoints de personnes ayant un TCCMG. La première série d’entretiens visait à cibler le contenu et la forme du matériel à développer. Un prototype d’outil s’appuyant sur ces données a été créé, puis présenté aux mêmes participants lors d’un second entretien. Compte tenu des préférences identifiées et des difficultés liées à la lecture chez cette clientèle, la création d’une présentation narrée de type Prezi, abordant différents aspects de la sexualité, a été privilégiée. Les modifications et ajouts à apporter ont été ciblés. Cinq présentations narrées, un dépliant et une liste à cocher aidant l’individu à identifier ses préoccupations et à les partager ont finalement été développés. L’expérience de l’utilisateur liée à ces outils a ensuite été évaluée positivement auprès de six autres personnes ayant un TCCMG. L’implication des usagers dans le projet a permis la création de matériel dont le contenu et la forme sont adaptés à leurs besoins.
