Abstract
Het Nederlands pensioenstelsel wordt beheerst door de collectiviteit en solidariteit. De collectiviteit en solidariteit staan onder druk doordat de maatschappij individualistischer is geworden. Deze scriptie anticipeert hierop door te onderzoeken naar een uitbreiding van keuzevrijheid binnen het pensioenstelsel. De keuzevrijheid behelst een opname van het opgebouwde pensioenrecht die vervolgens wordt bestemd voor woning en/of zorg. Op het gebied van woning en/of zorg kent het Nederlands pensioenstelsel geen keuzevrijheid. Landen als Zwitserland, Canada en het Verenigd Koninkrijk kennen deze optie wel. In hoeverre kan een individuele keuzevrijheid van het opgebouwde pensioenrecht op het gebied van woning en/of zorg worden opgenomen waarbij de collectiviteit en solidariteit in stand worden gehouden? Om hierover een beeld te kunnen vormen is de werking van de keuzevrijheid van Zwitserland, Canada en het Verenigd Koninkrijk onderzocht. Daarnaast is het pensioenstelstel van deze landen in kaart gebracht om een oordeel te kunnen vellen in hoeverre er sprake is van collectiviteit en solidariteit.
