Abstract
Der Autor berichtet ueber die Ergebnisse einer soziographischen Untersuchung in zwei ostdeutschen Mittelstaedten: Eisenach und Wolfen. Die Studie verfolgt insbesondere folgende Fragestellungen: Wie entwickeln sich die sozialen Milieus der Plattenbausiedlungen seit der Wende und welche Faktoren bestimmen die Entwicklung? Welche Effekte hat der soziale Abstieg der Siedlungen auf die Lebenslage insbesondere ressourcenschwacher Haushalte? Lassen sich exkludierende Quartierseffekte feststellen? Anhand von unterschiedlichen Typen der Exklusion wird untersucht, welche Merkmale bei den Haushalten und welche Merkmale auf Seiten der Quartiere zur sozialen Exklusion beitragen. Die zentrale These lautet, dass die Quartiere vor allem fuer materiell deprivierte und abgestiegene BewohnerInnen, die in den benachteiligten sozialraeumlichen Milieus leben, negative Effekte haben. Zweitens stellen auch die sozialen Nahbeziehungen und die Alltagsstrategien der Haushalte ein Kriterium dafuer dar, wie stark negative Quartierseffekte wirksam werden oder Ressourcen des Quartiers genutzt werden koennen.
