A dissertação deve discutir a política e o planejamento na perspectiva da emancipação social, mas com ênfase numa caracterização crítica da “sociedade neoliberal” e das suas manifestações no desenvolvimento urbano brasileiro. A proposta parte da leitura de Dardot e Laval (2016) segundo a qual o capitalismo tem conseguido se renovar através de uma neoliberalização das nossas subjetividades, o que sugere a figura de um “neoliberalismo multidimensional”, que institui e universaliza certa norma empresarial de vida. Pretende-se evidenciar de que modo esse ideário de corte mercadófilo, hegemônico na urbanização neoliberal, rivaliza com a justiça social e com a difusão de uma racionalidade crítica na produção das cidades brasileiras.
