Le chauffage à la biomasse forestière résiduelle est une alternative aux combustibles fossiles qui s’inscrit dans les objectifs québécois et canadiens de réduction des gaz à effet de serre (GES). Si les opportunités et les bénéfices de tels projets peuvent être conséquents, il ne faut pas négliger les freins et impacts potentiels de ces projets sur l’environnement et la communauté en particulier. Cette étude vise le développement d’un outil d’aide à la décision permettant de guider et d’aider les décideurs publics à choisir le meilleur projet et à améliorer sa durabilité. Les indicateurs sont pondérés en fonction des orientations des différentes parties prenantes grâce à l'utilisation de la méthode d'analyse décisionnelle multicritères hiérarchique (Analytic Hierarchical Process, AHP). Cette méthode permet de différencier les pondérations et d’intégrer l’acceptabilité sociale au processus de décision. L’outil a été appliqué à deux scénarios fictifs pour montrer sa capacité à guider la prise de décision et mettre en avant la différentiation des pondérations et des scénarios permise par la méthode d’évaluation.
